Mitchell Neto
1956-





1970


Mitchell and his sister Regina apply their artistic skills to the painting of local business windows to decorate for the holidays. They also begin creating items to sell at the family's gift shop in Mission San Jose, California



1972-1974


Mitchell begins to stand out amongst his peers and is accepted into the Sunset High School Art Service Committee where he quickly assumes a leadership role. He excells at mechanical drawing and begins to master technical perspective. While exploring all forms of art he begins producing silk screen prints and eventually is voted "Most Talented" in his graduating class.



1974-2005


Mitchell studies engineering in college but continues his pursuit of the arts. He attains a certificate in Graphic arts from UC Santa Cruz and starts a business in commercial art called Superior Graphics which became the foundation of his Fine Art Business today. He made a career supporting high energy physics research at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and retired after 26 years. When his first child went off to college in 2006 he began oil painting under the tutelage of local master Charles H. White.



Affiliations


Mitchell is an active member on the national art scene painting with artist colleagues in a wide variety of locations across the US. He is an active member of several local art groups including the California Art Club, California Plein Air Painters Asso., Alamo Danville Artist Association, Olive-Hyde Art Guild and Fremont Art Asso. Mitchell advocates for creation of art outdoors (plein air) and teaches art in his local community. He plans to continue advancing the arts, sharing this passion with others and creating beauty with a brush for the rest of his life.
